August 26, 1967: The Jimi Hendrix Experience released the song “Purple Haze.” August 26, 1970: Jimi Hendrix played his last concert at the Isle of Wight Festival. Jimi was special. I wish I would have had a chance to see him in concert, but I was a little too young.
